Case Study — Web App

FUNDIMTAANI

Connect clients to verified fundis in Kenya

Web App FlaskPostgreSQLHTML/CSSJavaScriptVercel

The problem

Finding a reliable local fundi in Kenya usually means asking around and hoping. Clients had no structured way to discover verified fundis, and fundis had no organised way to present themselves and get found for work.

What was built

A marketplace web app connecting clients with verified local fundis. The join flow is tied to user accounts, so an application can be started, left and resumed after logging back in without creating duplicates. Photos and documents are stored with the application record, and contact runs through WhatsApp and email. Deployed on Vercel with PostgreSQL.

Marketplace platform connecting clients in Kenya to verified local fundis (technicians). Join flow tied to accounts, resume across re-login, photo and document uploads, maintenance mode, email via Resend and SMTP, WhatsApp contact built in.

Challenges & solutions

Keeping exactly one application per person while letting people leave and resume the join flow across logins, and storing photos and documents reliably without a separate file-storage service — solved by keeping uploads in the database with the application record itself.

Outcome

The platform is live at fundimtaani.me and is currently in deliberate pre-launch maintenance mode while it is prepared for public launch.
