TERMS OF SERVICE

These terms govern your use of this website and, in general terms, how STARFORD DEV takes on client work. STARFORD DEV is the development studio of Starford Omwocha, based in Nairobi, Kenya, building websites, web applications, desktop applications, dashboards and M-PESA integrations.

Using this site

You may browse this site and use its forms for their intended purpose. Please do not misuse the site: no spam, no attempts to break in or disrupt the service, and no automated scraping that places an unreasonable load on it. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic to keep the site available for everyone.

Content and intellectual property

Everything on this site — the text, design, logo and code samples — belongs to STARFORD DEV (Starford Omwocha) unless stated otherwise, and may not be copied or republished without permission. The products showcased belong to STARFORD DEV or their respective owners and are shown here as a record of work done.

Enquiries are not contracts

Sending an enquiry, a Scope Builder brief or a call booking does not by itself create a client relationship or an obligation on either side. A project begins only when both sides have agreed a written proposal covering the scope, deliverables, price and timeline for that project.

Proposals and payment

• Prices and timelines are given in the proposal for your specific project. Nothing published on this website is a price offer.
• Payment schedules — for example, a deposit before work begins and the balance on delivery — are set out in the proposal. Payment methods (including M-PESA) are agreed per project.
• If a project's scope changes after the proposal is agreed, the price and timeline may be adjusted by written agreement before the extra work proceeds.

Your responsibilities as a client

Projects need input from both sides. As a client you agree to provide the content, materials, credentials and feedback your project needs, in good time. You are responsible for having the right to use any materials you supply, such as text, images and trademarks.

Project work and ownership

Unless your proposal says otherwise in writing: once a project is fully paid for, ownership of the finished deliverables transfers to you. STARFORD DEV may show the finished work in this portfolio and case studies unless you ask otherwise in writing.

Live demos

The live demos linked from this site are provided as-is, for evaluation. Features may change and demos may be taken offline without notice, and data entered into a demo is not guaranteed to be kept.

Availability and liability

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but it is provided as-is without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, STARFORD DEV's liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the amount paid for that engagement under its proposal. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Kenyan law.

Third-party services

Running a project may involve third-party services — hosting providers, payment processors and similar. Their own terms and policies apply to their parts of the service.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version posted on this page, with its date at the top, is the current one, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If a disagreement arises, both sides will try to settle it in good faith first, before turning to the Kenyan courts.
